Distilled at Kilkerran distillery in Campbeltown, this expression is the seventh batch of heavily peated release. Matured for an undisclosed length of time in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, it has been bottled free from chill filtration and artificial colourings at a strength of 59.1% abv.
Tasting notes:
Nose – Fresh on the nose, reminiscent of morning dew, pine forest and damp gooseberry bushes, with a hemp, vegetal note developing over time.
Palate – The peat comes to the forefront in the palate with a characteristic sweetness detected in notes of toasted marshmallows and s’mores, along with hints of lemon drizzle cake and shortbread.
Finish – The finish sees the continuation of the sweet peat influence and the introduction of a salty note and hints of burnt pretzels and fresh green apples.
